  1. ever came accross java.lang.ClassFormatError: error? (1 messages)

    developed a Forum ejb
    deployed:
    error:
Unable to deploy EJB: Forum.jar from Forum.jar:

            com.forum.ejb.Post
            at weblogic.ejb20.ejbc.EJBCompiler.setupEJB(EJBCompiler.java:129)
            at weblogic.ejb20.deployer.Deployer.runEJBC(Deployer.java:295)
            at weblogic.ejb20.deployer.Deployer.compileEJB(Deployer.java:676)
            at weblogic.ejb20.deployer.Deployer.deploy(Deployer.java:843)

    no specific error message available?

tried 'Validating' the deployment descriptor through the Default client. Then the following error arises.

    [WebAppServletContext(6186641,console,/console)] Servlet failed with Exception
    java.lang.ClassFormatError: com/forum/ejb/Post (Bad magic number)
            at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method)
            at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:486)

Anybody came across the error and have a solution?
    TIA

  2. Yes. When I FTP my compiled class files from my NT box to the Solaris server. If I send them in ASCII format this error pops up. So I always send my class files in BINARY format.

They've been going in and out of style,
But they're guaranteed to raise a smile...
