what is the concept behind looking up the environment properties using "java:comp/env" instead using getEnvironment method of EJBContext?

Part of the reason is for uniformity.. when you lookup stuff, you should be using JNDI. Having proprietary APIs means less uniformity between applications. Also, I like the concept of a centralized administration of environment properties in a cluster.

I do not understand the concept of clustring clearly...
Shall I keep my environment variables under some sub-
    contexts of the current context?
if so how should I lookup?
    --Thanks--
