Which is the best web server that supports JSP/Servlets. I am using the server for production purpose. The server should be able to process large amount of requests.
There are lots available but you require to evaluate them
and find out which is better, but no time to all this stuff.
I have an good experience with the Apache Tomcat(Servlet Engine),but now I require to go for some appserver due to
implementation of other features,so it would be better to go to app server if your job has any scope of using any other j2ee feature which are not present in the Tomcat4.0
Can TOMCAT be used for production purpose ? Is it a stable product? How about iplanet?
I am not going for app server becoz no EJBS will be used.
The problem with Tomcat can be throughput, at least according to it's commercial rivals. Also the commercial products trumpet 'ease of use'. Dubiously in my opinion.
Most of the better commercial App Server products are full-featured (I.E with EJB) btw.....
Either Tomcat or Weblogic would be my choice, depending on whether I also had to support EJB and the size of my budget....
