General J2EE: File Transfer and J2EE

  1. File Transfer and J2EE (1 messages)

    hi,
Our Business Requirement is Large file transfer across the network and saving the files in the local file System and Sending the files to different source based on some criteria.

I Want to know how this requirement can be solved Using J2EE Architecture?

I have the following concerns for using ejbs because

1.With Ejbs we can't write to local file System
2.We can't use Sockets in EJB to forward the file to some other location.

       Any ideas and suggesions helpful.

     Regards
    Srinivas

    Don't use EJBs,
sounds like you need a file upload servlet of some kind.
they are all based on rfc 1867

    http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc1867.txt?number=1867

    here are some examples...
    http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/fileupload/

    http://www.servertec.com/products/iws/samples/fileupload.html

    http://www.frontiernet.net/~imaging/FileUploadServlet.html

i am sure you can find more, but these should do.
