Blistering review of TSS's pet store application and the implementation design failures, at least in the context of a benchmark application.
Also, an interesting sidenote regarding Microsoft's state caching in the .NET implementation.

Excellent link that goes into far more detail, and casts many more aspersions at TSS. Funny that this thread of discussion is only getting airplay at JavaLobby (http://www.javalobby.com/threadMode_printfriendly.jsp?forum=61&thread=5500) and not here on TSS.
