    (1) Tomcat Admin Tree ( Struts )
    1-1 download tomcat 5 sourcecode from jakarta.apache.org
1-2 replace the ApplicationServlet by ActionServlet as controller
1-3 org.apache.webapp.admin.SetUpTreeAction is the initial action
it puts the TreeControl into Session
1-4 Try to know the TreeBuilder and to modify it , because this sample code gets data from xml file, u need to change it from your datasource and recursive to generate the TreeControlNodes into TreeControl.
1-5 using the <controls:tree ... /> taglibs for displaying the Tree

    (2) Struts Menu
    http://struts-menu.sourceforge.net/

    (3) JSPwidget
    http://jspwidget.sourceforge.net/

    (4) Javascript Tree
I think the xloadtree is a good javascript tree .
    http://webfx.eae.net/dhtml/xloadtree/xloadtree.html
the tree data could be from the xml and others as u wish.

  6. Tomcat admin tree in XML format?[ Go to top ]

    Hi Gary,

your posting is over a year old and most likely this reply will not reach you. Anyway I give it a try.

I experimented with the tree component for a while now and I always used a programmatic interface as in UsersTreeBuilder.java:
                TreeControlNode subtree = new TreeControlNode
                    ("Global User and Group Administration",
                     "folder_16_pad.gif",
                     resources.getMessage(locale, "users.treeBuilder.subtreeNode"),
                     null,
                     "content",
                     true, "Users");

Is this XML tree format you talk about an extension to the Tomcat admin tree or do I have the wrong component (version 5.5.4 and 5.5.7) or is it to be activated?

Here is the big picture on what I want to do:

Maybe you want to share some thoughts on that too.

    Regards,
    Mark
