  1. [jboss]no META-INF/application.xml found (2 messages)

    Hello, good morning.

    I´m trying to deploy an ear file in jboss 3.2.3 and I keep getting the following exception:
    ============
    org.jboss.deployment.DeploymentException: No META-INF/application.xml found
    ============

    Here is my directory structure inside the ear file:
    ============
    META-INF
    |---application.xml
    myjar.jar
    mywebapp.war
    ============

    And the application.xml
    ============
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE application PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD J2EE Application
    1.3//EN" "http://java.sun.com/dtd/application_1_3.dtd">
    <application>
    <display-name>Hello Ear File</display-name>
    <module>
    <ejb>myjar.jar</ejb>
    </module>
    <module>
    <web>
    <web-uri>mywebapp.war</web-uri>
    <context-root>/webapp</context-root>
    </web>
    </module>
    </application>
    ============

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks a lot :D

  3. WinRAR? WinZip?[ Go to top ]

    Why are you using WinRAR or WinZip anyway? The best way to create an EAR file is to just use the jar utility. That way, you at least know it will be compatible. Use an Ant script with a target that creates the EAR directory structure then just does a <jar> task with the EAR directory as the base dir.

    Much easier, less headaches!
