Any J2EE web container will support struts.

Struts exists in a small seed, known as struts.jar :-)
Well, struts is comparatively new technology and like struts many other frameworks have surfaced (Tapestry, webworks, spring). Now tomorrow xxxx becomes most wanted framework, is it necessary that all the App servers modify their codebas to be compatible with this new technology.Well the beauty of de-coupled intutive development is modularity and plugability. So just drop this small kiddo seed in your /lib folder and struts is at your service.

Secondly, all app servers adher to some standard description nomenclature as stated by EJB specification. But still there can be some subtle difference in the way deployment xml are designed. So DD for JBoss wornt work for Pramati server. So you will definately have to modify the descriptors to fit your present App server
