I guess this can be taken as advertising, but my enterprise has a commercial product called Tamino XML Server that I think it is quite good and has enterprise quality. There are evaluation / personal usage versions. More info at http://www.softwareag.com/tamino .
I actually have not used any other XML DB so I cannot compare. -

Thanks for the info. I will look into it. I had found some other products like Ixiasoft TextML server, Infonyte DB, Esterra XML Storage Server, Fujitsu Interstage XML Search, Neocore XML Server. Most of these have similar functionalities. But I just wonder how these systems scale? Were there any benchmarking done on these type of products? Does Tamino have some kind of benchmarking report?
