Hi,
The administration console for Weblogic 8.1 SP2 has a Performance tab under the Monitoring tab. This Performance tab shows the memory usage for the server.
Is there any way to have this memory usage logged to a file periodically?
Thanks,
Rahul

Hello,
use the WebLogic SNMP Agent (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/snmpman/index.html) and MRTG (http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/webtools/mrtg/). Here the OIDs (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/snmp/index.html):
jvmRuntimeHeapSizeCurrent: .1.3.6.1.4.1.140.625.340.1.20
jvmRuntimeHeapFreeCurrent: .1.3.6.1.4.1.140.625.340.1.25
An other way is to use JMX (http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jmx/index.html).
Regards

In the market there are lots of tools such as Omegamon, Introscope or Quest Foglight that are useful to collect metrics from application servers.
