OASIS made progress last week on security standards, ratifying the Extensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) 2.0 and successfully passing the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 through interoperability tests. While SAML enables the secure exchange of authentication and authorization details, XACML defines an XML schema for representing authorization and entitlement policies.
