General J2EE: Log4J.properties location

  1. Log4J.properties location (1 messages)

Using WAS 5.1.1.4, instead of placing the log4j.properties file in the PROPERTIES directory under the webpshere installpath, I include it within the actual EAR file. problem is how do I change the logging level on demand without installing a completely new EAR? does JMX have this capabilty to cahnge at runtime?

    thanks

You may use the following options:
    1. Write a EJB client application to set the logging level via log4j's API

    2. Open source solutions like LogWeb http://www.codeczar.com/products/logweb/build.html
