Sun is releasing the source code for the J2EE SDK 5 (Sun's Sun Java System Application Server 9) under the Java Research License. The new java.net project "Glassfish" currently has a page setup for the web tier module, with the others coming shortly. Glassfish's purpose is to allow end user collaboration on the J2EE SDK and to "understand Sun's J2EE development process".
According to Glassfish project owner Carla Mott, The webtier module includes code for a new HTTP connector, Grizzly, written entirely in Java and uses Java's NIO technology. You can also download the weekly promoted builds, install the server and checkout Grizzly and other new features that way.
