Day.com has released Content Repository Extreme (CRX) 1.0. This is a full implementation of JSR-170, the Content Repository for Java Technology, from the JSR project lead company. CRX is part of Day's content infrastructure product line.
Three thirty-day trial editions are available for download: an enterprise edition, a standard edition, and a developer edition. The enterprise edition contains a cluster manager for high scalability and an LDAP authentication module in addition to all of the JSR-170 capabilities. (The standard edition doesn't include the cluster manager or the LDAP module.) The developer edition contains all of the feature of the enterprise edition, except the license restricts it to one user for development, testing, or demonstration purposes.
The standard and developer editions can also be purchased from Day, at 1,330 EU per year and 79 EU per year, respectively (roughly, $1588 USD and $95 USD, according to http://www.xe.com - note that these values fluctuate often.)
If you've used CRX, what do you think of it? If you've not used it, what would make you decide to try it out?

Is there a simple getting started or a How-to for dummies kind of tutorial somewhere out there?
What all do i need to download in order to see its working?

In the install directory you will find
a docs folder with a "First Steps" document. What all do i need to download in order to see its working?
You can just download the .exe (or .sh) installer which is fully "self contained".
Or simply go to http://jcr.day.com to see it working.

Hi Joseph,
We just announced a new JXInsight trace and profile extension for JCR implementations. JInspired is the first performance management solution to offer comprehensive support for this new technology which could adoption levels greater similiar to JCA and JDBC. Because of the repository abstraction it is impportant that deep insight into actual runtime behavior is provided. JXInsight delivers this today.
