    Hi,

    what are the in memory data bases available today?

    are these the only ones:

    TimesTen
    Kdb
    Berkely DB
    HSQL

    When do you use in memory databases in enterprise applciaitons? Are they used only as a cache ?

    I do not think KDB can be embedded in your Java apps. Probably can be used as an external database but it can maintain everything in memory.
