    Could the list of Hot Threads at the bottom of the front page (most of which have turned decidedly cool) be replaced with the Recently Active Threads list that appears on the right of the Discussions page. The latter list is far more useful in following ongoing discussions.

    I think an even better use of that screen space would be a short list of the most active threads of the day or week or both. The problem with listing recently active threads directly is that unpopular threads (such as brand new threads) get listed.
