    Hi,

We have a JMS based enterprise messaging backbone for connecting distributed systems. We have a need to scale this to include unidirectional communication satellite links and are trying to find out diffrent possible solutions. Can JXTA for JMS help in this situation?

    Thanks.

You cannot implement any kinds of reliability (such as acknowledging messages) using a pure unidirectional communcation link - though maybe you can use the unidirectional link for the high volume stuff, then send acknowledgements over another low bandwidth & slower communication channel?

Either way, using a pluggable transport layer in your JMS provider can help - then you can implement the transport layer however you wish. e.g. Aache ActiveMQ has pluggable transport layers - so you can implement it using a unidirectional communication channel if you wish
