JBoss-WS 1.0, JBoss' new Web service engine, released (7 messages)

Thomas Diesler has announced that JBoss-WS 1.0.0 has been released for use in the upcoming 4.0.4 release of JBoss. The new release includes support for RPC, Message, and document-style endpoints, attachments, EJB endpoints, and the WS-Addressing, WS-Transaction, WS-Eventing, and WS-Policy specifications.
JMS transports are also supported. This release represents a further step to JBoss' upcoming Java EE compliance, and also shows a consolidation in the feature sets of the various web services frameworks for Java: most frameworks now support many of the same protocols, so "best of breed" can be judged on performance and compatibility rather than on bullet lists that show features.Threaded Messages (7)

For WS-Transaction you should probably link to http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=ws-tx
rather than the BEA site. -

Not really, because the OASIS TC is working on an updated version. Current WS-TX implementations (including the JBoss one) are based on earlier drafts. -

I updated the blog to read:

There is still some integration work to be done with respect to WS-Transaction and WS-Policy. (clarified on 05-May-2006)
Support for the WS-Coordination, WS-AtomicTransaction and WS-BusinessActivity specifications will be provided by technology recently acquired from Arjuna Technologies Ltd. This technology will be present within the JBoss Transactions 4.2.1 release. Further information can be obtained from the JBoss Transactions Project. Both integration tasks are scheduled for jbossws-1.0.2. -
