  2. I really like this product but really wish they could find a way to keep their roadmap even close to current. This is what is currently listed. I didn't realize it was February already.
MyEclipse 5.0.3 should be available in late October and will be primarily a bug fix release. MyEclipse 5.1 should be available Feb 2007. At a high-level, target features include: * Reduce the Enterprise Workbench footprint and allow on-demand availability of features to avoid large downloads with each release. * Offer a number of features (i.e. web designer, image editor, UML design,..etc.) as small RCP applications for quick prototyping activities. * Deliver the 1st JEE/WEB "On Rails" rapid prototyping and delivery * Vastly improving MyEclipse documentation, tutorials, guides, pod casts,...
More details for 5.1 will be available by Oct 15th."
  3. Sick and tired[ Go to top ]

Yes, I too and sick and tired of companies promising one delivery date and then delivering ahead of .... er, wait. No I'm not. Great job MyEclipse! Thank you!
  4. Re: Sick and tired[ Go to top ]

It's only ahead of schedule if you go by the version # alone. I don't see ANY of the "target" features listed above actually in the 5.1 release.

Frankly speaking I like those products/teams that are able to deliver new value continuously. And MyEclipse team is prooving more and more good at doing this. Imagine you are one of those users that keep hitting one (or more) bugs. Would you wait for another couple of months before having them? BR, ./alex -- .w( the_mindstorm )p.
  6. Keep improving[ Go to top ]

These people are doing a great job. MyEclipse is always improving since I first started using it in 2004. "All in one" seems to be another way they try to help people with the installation overhead of downloading Eclipse separately. So guys keep up the good work. Kamal Mettananda

Love the product, I have been using it on and off for years, but the license is a pain, especially in a situation like mine, where the credit card is currently replaced and I bombed out of my subscription year (and my second credit card is not one of the supported CC company options). (Yes I know my fault, the bombing out) I would love to see a buy it get updates for a year and keep the license without upgradability option. But for some reason it does not exist. So back to callisto for me at least for another week (and this is a pain)
  8. Re: Keep improving[ Go to top ]

Werner; If you are waiting on a credit card replacement or are in a temporary situation, you may consider contacting our subscriptions department to explain your status. Believe me, we do not want the process to be a hassle for you. Please visit the MyEclipse site for contact info. Thanks! -Jens
  9. Great work! When are you going to support JSR 168 Portlet development and deployment to popular portal servers?
  10. Put me down for JSR-168 as well[ Go to top ]

Great work! When are you going to support JSR 168 Portlet development and deployment to popular portal servers?
Yep - definitely would love to see that. Portlets is a great way to deliver business apps, but tool support is lack lustre, especially in Eclipse. But besides that, great work MyEclipse!!!
