Web tier: servlets, JSP, Web frameworks: Saving HTML form with DATA & PDF converting

  1. Saving HTML form with DATA & PDF converting (2 messages)

Hi...All, One of the requirement we have for our new application is to save the HTML form along with the data the user enters, on the file system before/after the data gets saved in the DB. How can I achieve this? The reason this has to be done is because the filled "FORM" is then converted to PDF & sent out to the user as a document for proof. Secondly, are there any tools available on SunOS that takes the input as a HTML/XML form & converts into PDF? Regards, Praveen
  2. you really need to rethink the technical implementation of your business requirement...... If a printable artifact has to be produced like a PDF, the data from the DB is all you need. A HTML form is only available to the browser to render. Any populated form fields come to your app as request parameters. as for tools, look for Apache FOP. java tools are not OS specific.
  3. Thanks Sohail...
