  1. URGENT !!! - Cache problem in Netscape ... (6 messages)

    Hi !
    I've developed a bean with JSP as client. Everything works fine, but the problem I face is that, in netscape the page that get loaded is coming from the cache memory and not refreshing it. So the I could not view the latest copy of the page. I tried by deleting the cache in Netscape-->Edit-->Preference menu option. But still I face the same problem. It is working perfectly fine in I.E. But the major users are using netscape, so I got to find a method to refresh the latest copy of the page. How could it be solved. It is required urgently.

    Thanks
    AJP
  2. Hi, AJP!

    Maybe it helps to use html meta tags to prevent client caching:

    <META http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache">
    <META http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">
    <META http-equiv="Expires" content="-1">

  3. Hi !
    Thanks for ur reply. Where these three lines should be placed, should it be within Head tag like this :
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>
    </TITLE>
    <META http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-cache">
    <META http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache">
    <META http-equiv="Expires" content="-1">
    </HEAD>

    Is the above syntax right ???
  4. Hi, AJP!

    That's right! You have to place it between the <head>...</head> tag.

  5. Hi

    it is not a netscape problem, I guess.
    Are you or anybody in your team using any session object in this application? if so set session as false in the page you face the problem.

    If you use include directive in your jsp code, and if you make changes to the file included in your jsp code, save both the files, the file as well as your jsp code. JSP container had the problem.

    Good luck.

    If the META tags do not work for you, you may want to try restarting the web server.
