Though web services are often associated with Java EE web tier components, its also possible to deploy an EJB component as a web service relying on JAX-WS. This post contains numerous code listings that illustrate this process. http://jee-bpel-soa.blogspot.com/2009/03/jax-ws-web-services-in-java-ee-5-ejb-30.html

good one, but when web services are chosen to be the implementation of an SOA solution, how would WS- be applied to such solution? does this now follow EJB policies? i.e. security, transaction, etc?
