    LogicalDOC is a multiplatform Document Management System (DMS) based on open source technology (JSF, Ajax, Hibernate, Spring). Thanks to its development philosophy, LogicalDOC transforms complex operations into easy tasks. It allows the storage, organization, versioning and administration of all kind of files and documents within an user friendly interface. One of the most relevant LogicalDOC function is the full-text indexing of the most common types of files: text, Office, OpenOffice, PDF, HTML, XML, JPEG, etc. Its powerful search engine (Lucene) indexes all documents making it easy to find any information. Logicaldoc has many other features that facilitate teamwork such as versioning, tagging of documents and the internal messaging system. Thanks to the features provided by Hibernate, LogicalDOC can be installed with most popular RDBMS systems. The system is developed primarily on HSQLDB and PostgreSQL 8.3, but has been installed and tested with MySQL 5.1, Oracle 10g Express Edition, MS SQL Server 2005 Express. This new version entails the following improvements: a new external authentication plugin that adds support for LDAP specifications: OpenLDAP or MS Active Directory, Discussion Forums on documents, multiple browse views, PDF conversion, RSS feeds, improved Versioning system with complete diff among metadata and many more.
