    Is it possible for one to safeguard against the fact that scripting may be disabled in the browser? How do you ensure that scripting is enabled, particularly in the case of of Internet applications, that may be accessed by any user with any browser. The situation is not so bad in an Intranet environment as there is more control over users and their browser configuration. Is there any out there that addresses the caveats to AJAX?

    You can use plugin technologies, such as Adobe Flash/Flex or Java Applets. They should work well if JavaScript is disabled. However, it is possible to disable plugins as well.. If you want a 100% guarantee that your website if functional across all possible environments, use simple plain HTML. However, you should estimate the percentage of users that will have JavaScript disabled. If it's low, that probably it does not really matter. Java Development on Demand http://www.hitech.com.ua/en/

    Set a field with javascript, then check for the field in your serverside. e.g. <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- document.write('<input type="hidden" name="jsTrue" value="1" />') // --> </script>
