News: IBM builds a large patterns library for eBusiness solutions

  1. IBM has created a web site (the Patterns for e-business) with a lot of fairly detailed patterns, processes and runtime topologies related to eBusinesses, including worked solutions.

  2. I'd be interested to hear whether this library has roots in the San Francisco project.
  3. I would say it's not directly from the SF project. I've got the SF design patterns book sitting on my desk and believe me its nothing like the site. The book covers reasonably low level reusable patterns (at the level of the Gamma and Helm book), whereas the site is mainly high-level architectural patterns to suit various business models and problems. There are a few other pattern related things in there - and the site is worth looking at for those - but in the main this is a solutions sales tool.

Its point is to lead you through design issues and hopefully sell you some IBM stuff.
