OpenCore‚Äôs metering engine is blazingly fast when used as an application performance monitoring solution measuring the performance of an entire code base of a Java application in production. It is able to out perform every other solution on the market because of its clean architectural separation and it being inherently cost aware in dynamically auto-disabling the metering of methods deemed non-hotspots.

I have previously reported on how low the overhead can drop in an entry titled One Billion Operations Per Second but with latest OpenJDK 1.7 build it has become a Zero Sum game with regard to the overhead for an instrumented but non-metered method invocation.
