What do you thing about rule based engine inside J2EE environment? Do you have any experiences with that kind of tools? I'm also pretty interested in hearing something about:
- Using rules to determine business process flow;
- Using rules to optimize business processes;
- Using rules to process high amounts of data
(personalization, content/people matching)

I've heard that there is proposition of standard (no details) to solve the problem of business rules in J2EE environment. I'll be gratefull for any information about this initiative.

Check out a company called Camilion Solutions..
They implement business rules in J2EE environment which are easily authorable by a business analyst using a browser. -
