In the Java communitee, there is a big fuzz about using JDO instead of Entity Beans or JDBC, there are good implementations, open source and commercial, but it seems that no big player (IBM, BEA, even SUN) is really ready to support it. Only, Oracle has its Toplink persistence framework which is somehow similar in concepts.
I do not believe that it would be wise to let Microsoft teach the Java Communitee a lesson , by including a simpler and easier to use persistence framework in their .NET framework.
