The Open XML Framework (OXF) is an XML transformation framework built on top of J2EE technologies. OXF introduced Model 2X, which enhances the Struts implementation of Model 2 by replacing JSP with XML and XSLT.

In this new version, XML-based integration and Web application development are improved. OXF 2.0 delivers standard J2EE applications that can be deployed on any application server.
