HELP: infinite loop while deploying .war files in WLS 6.0 sp 2

EJB programming & troubleshooting: HELP: infinite loop while deploying .war files in WLS 6.0 sp 2

  1. Hello all,

Please help us out in this problem we're having while using WLS 6.0 sp2 in a Windows 2000 environment. When we try to deploy on .war file into WLS, everything runs OK. After that, whenever we try to deploy another one or redeploy the fist one, the server enters an infine loop of .war deploy/undeploy/deploy/undeploy and so on.

If we shut it down and then boot it up again, the loop just continues... :(...

Anyone else had this problem before? How can we avoid it?

Please, any help you can provide will probably be useful. Thanks in advance for your time.

  2. Make sure the system date of the computer you are deploying the beans on is not before the creation time of .war file.

Weblogic 6.0 tries to make a determination if the bean is newer than the one it has and will deploy and undeploy the bean, since weblogic gets its time from system clock if it's time is before the deployed beans time it will constantly think there is a new version of the .war file out there.

  3. Rich,

I'd like to thank you for your time - that was it, and nobody really remembered that before. You just explained with a single paragraph a full morning of debugging pain. :)
