The contest to choose a logo for the Apache Geronimo project is closed. Though the contest was not without controversy, which included introducing new rules halfway through the process, everyone seemed satisfied with the results in the end.
The winning logo was submitted by Epic, a company supply eBusiness software and services. You can see their submission on their site.
Well done to Epic and Apache Geronimo!

I think does two british dudes had it all wrong. In 2014 it's gonna be Geronizon, not Googlezon ... in any case - sounds better than Amaboss or Microzon to me :) -

The Golf Channel logo was designed by my sister more than ten years ago (yes, honestly). The swish of the 'G' represents the path of the club head. The rest is, of course, a golf tee.
The first letter is quite often used for logos. This should surprise no one. For one, it makes for a very scalable logo (like Google's). But it only really "works", when it represents more than the first letter of the word. The feathers in the background of Geronimo's logo does a good job of this, IMO. -

Nice logo...
Only 31 people voted? That number is a bit low for a graphical representation of a product, don't you think? -

Probably it is a good indication of how much people care about the stuff (Geronimo and Logo) -

From the graphics on the site as well as the URL, the name of the Co. is Epiq, not Epic :) -

Tasteful colors, smooth fonts. I can see days of work spent on it. Even two letters "G" placed side-by-side cannot spoil the masterpiece:
Geronimo, 100x30, 3 lines of text:
<img src="http://www.epiqtech.com/corp/products/technology/opensource/images/design8_100x30.gif" width="100" height="30" alt="Geronimo, 100x30" border="0">
Geronimo's logo definetely stands out of the hundreds of bland amateurish drawings, like this:
Firefox, 88x31, 2 lines of text:
<img border="0" alt="Geronimo, 100x30" src="http://sfx-images.mozilla.org/affiliates/Buttons/88x31/trust.gif"/>
And get this: JBoss does not have "Powered by" logo at all.
