What If All the World Ran Linux?

Katherine Noyes produced and article for Newtorkworld discussing all the great things that would happen if the world ran Linux. The key points are the fact that it would be an end to malware, there would be no need for internet security, computers would never break down, and so much money would be saved that world hunger would end, and there would be peace in the middle-east.

Here's what would really happen - malware makers would target Linux operating systems instead of Windows. Computer hackers would hack the life out of Linux systems instead of focusing on Windows security holes. Also, if the world ran Linux, there'd be a whole lot more garbage software that morons would install on their servers causing all sorts of memory leaks and race conditions that are really at the core of why Windows servers end up needing bouncing.

One thing that is true is that there would be a great reduction in laptop thefts. I mean, your average thug isn't going to want to steal a laptop that runs Linux.

OK, who are you, and what did you do to the real Cameron McKenzie? This article is so full of garbage I only have to refer you to the original article to refute it.

That's actually one of the funnier comebacks I've heard in a while. Happy Boxing Day.

Oh, but it's slightly more amusing that we are the only ones bothering to comment on TSS anymore. What a lame site.

HAHA. Back to java.dzone.com for worthy info.

Well, in fact there is nothing funny on that post. Your article showed, that you have absolutelly no idea, what are you talking about. But ABSOLUTELLY. I think, you are just so conscious, that you actually posted this article, however, much better idea would be to start learning instead of talking upfront. I'm not sure it makes much sense, but at least one argument:

Most of world internet servers run linux. That would be marvelous target for virus authors. If that would be such easy...

Even if the linked article was absolutely ridiculous (which I think it somewhat was), making fun of Linux because an article about it was poor is... well, unprofessional.  It's as if I judged the Java world by the low quality of some of TSS's articles.

I guess Cameron is trolling for page hits. Nothing like a good flamewar with Linux geeks! ;-)
