Evaluating Seam 1.x we came to the conclusion that it needs JEE 5. Which only OC4J 11 supports. So I guess upgrading JSF to 1.2 is not enough.

I too have been thinking of an integration with seams's converstaions/continuations with wicket. I'll try to make it happen :)

I think you should go read Red Hat financials and see what percentage of revenue comes from subscriptions and what comes from consulting.
