Code Generation Using XML Based Document Transformation
By Soumen Sarkar & Craig Cleaveland

With recent interest in XML standards and availability of tools supporting these standards, it has become possible to generate multiple types of documents by applying XML document transformation technology. Using XML document transformation technology, it has become easier to develop custom code/document generators in application development projects. An EJB framework created a very powerful paradigm of server side infrastructure development in a real world project described in this paper. The project had a tremendous lead by being able to build further on this sophisticated server side infrastructure rather than spending time on building the infrastructure itself. The project was totally focused on building application logic and delivering functionality.

NEW APPLICATION SERVER REVIEWS

Oracle 9i + JDeveloper
By n n

I've been using Oracle 9i + JDeveloper for the past 4 months and I must say it is an incredible product. I've programmed before in perl, visual C++, borland c++, delphi, powerbuilder, matlab, etc. And some tools are a pleasure to work with and some aren't. With my ntier experience and a sun certified architect I've developed in weblogic, websphere and Oracle 9i with current versions and the one product that out shined the others was Oracle 9i + JDeveloper. I was surprised how fast and robust it was.

Sybase EAServer 4.0 Review
By Anil Dhiman

EAservers's EJB2.0 compliance and its ability to run non-Java CORBA, EJB or COM components side by side, pooling of Stateful session bean , entity bean Caching and hot deployment prove to be its major attractions. I 'd like to share some of the characterstics which I experienced while working on EAServer 4.0 developers version One. Some of the interesting points about this download is that it has all the features (that is multiple component models support, 2pc etc) for 5 IIOP connection. This allowed one to experience a hetrogenous development environment
