Which app server do you intend to use for development? The vendor should be recommending the tool. -

FrontierSuite from ObjectFrontier will address your problem. Please look at the DirectDeploy tool within FrontierSuite. FrontierSuite is portable across application servers and RDBMS. -

Check out Pramati Studio (www.pramati.com) or Borland JBuilder or Oracle JDeveloper, they all do Linux. -

Borland supports EJB2.0 on the Linux doing visual CMP building.
