EJB programming & troubleshooting: Local EJB's in a clustered envirionmemt

  1. Local EJB's in a clustered envirionmemt (3 messages)

If we have Local EJB's in an application deployed in a clustered environment. Will this give a problem?
  2. No. The failover granularity (assuming the cluster supports it) would be at a higher level, such as the EJB call (if it were remote) or the HTTP request.

  3. Any experience/ideas on how this behaves in WebLogic Cluster environment?
  4. Yes, the web tier request router would contact the WebLogic server (the session primary) and give it the request to process. If that server dies or times out, it will give the same request to another WebLogic server (the session secondary). That's how typicaly failover in the WebLogic world works. So the granularity of the "retry" from the failover is the HTTP request itself.
