Manning's latest book in development "Java Server Faces in Action" by jsfcentral.com maintainer Kito Mann will be going through TSS' book review process. The "Introducing JavaServer Faces", and "Developing a user interface without Java code - the login page" chapters have initially been posted for public review.
Read https://www.theserverside.com/resources/JSFInActionReview.jsp.
We'd like to thank Manning for working with TSS to bring such timely content to the community, and we encourage everyone to read the chapters and submit feedback to the author.

It is strange: this is supposed to be "next big thing"
in java GUI, and there is so little (visible here) attention
to this topic from community.
Authors can also mention Oracle Forms as mass-accepted
RAD framework. Now it is available for multi-tier environment
with relatively acceptable scalability.

JSF has been going on for how long, now? I gave up on jsf a while ago.
Have you ever checked their forums? There's more activity in a morgue on a saturday night. -

As this thread implies:
http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2003/07/23/java_qa.html
Vendors Group (JCP) is not listeing to users.....
The chapters are marketing.
Maybe more on JSF+EJB ( I think people that do not use EJB, will not use JSF)
We have this already:

There may be some truth here - who knows? Your mileage will vary from one spec to the next.

That's ridiculous. Whether people use EJB or not is completely irrelevant to whether or not they will find JSF useful.

What you have here is a nice little introduction to JSF. Books on JSF will hopefully provide much more in depth information and nice sample applications that bring people up to speed quickly.
You obviously have some axe to grind.
