Plumtree Software today unveiled plans to offer a J2EE version of its portal software by mid 2004. The new version will be functionally equivalent to their current proprietary java implementation but will have a re-designed Java kernel, make heavy use of J2EE specs behind the scenes, run on all major J2EE appservers, and eventually support JSR 168 portlet standard.

Check out Plumtree's press release, and a whitepaper about the new J2EE implementation.
