O/R Mapping company THOUGHT Inc. has announced the release of a new Eclipse IDE plug-in included with version 5.0 of the ORM tool CocoBase PURE POJO. The GUI tooling in CocoBase, made up of the Magic Mapper and the Mapping Workbench, is tightly integrated inside Eclipse, giving users the ability to auto-map tables, fields and objects together. The Mapping Workbench holds all persistence functionality in one GUI. CocoBase includes additional advanced POJO persistence support, including: - The ability to map single or multiple inheritance with multiple discriminators without requiring knowledge of specific mapping strategies - SQL realms, allowing multiple SQL views or filters for the same Java class model - Generic POJO O/R mapping - SQL tuning, allowing generation and tuning of SQL for each mapping at design time - Callback plug-ins and factories for incorporating custom behavior at runtime CocoBase will be delivering a JPA integration to provide EJB 3.0 compliant support. The CocoBase Persistence API supports standard EJBQL based querying for object queries and it is based on an early draft of the EJB3 persistence API. The EJB 3.0 compliant support is expected to be released soon.Threaded Messages (6)

Lol! That was funny. I hate patents w.r.t. software techniques, I understand why they exist, but you quickly realize how abused they can be. Imagine if someone patented "searching the internet", would we have Google? The fact that I have to click on Flash components to use them in the latest IE is reason enough to hate patents. More information on that travesty for those interested here: http://www.acmebinary.com/blogs/craiger/archive/2006/05/31/Click_to_Activate_Flash_in_IE.aspx

Thus it would be time for Mr. Begin to finally become engaged to Miss End and adopt her name. No offense, man :-) -

Thank the heavens I live somewhere in the rest of the world. A place were US patent madness isn't worth the paper its written on.

Is CocoBase still 100 times faster than pure JDBC?
