Mark the dates: March 21-23, 2007, TheServerSide Symposium 2007 will be in Las Vegas at the Venetian! The Symposium focuses on cutting-edge technologies, and we're excited this year because with all of the change and growth in the Enterprise Java space, there's a lot of interesting ground to cover. Join us at the Symposium, and help push Enterprise Java forward! Topics already lined up cover roughly four areas: presentation, persistence, architecture, and development processes, addressing the trends and prospects of each. Speakers include Geert Bevin, Dion Almaer, Brian Goetz, John Davies, and John Crupi, among others. Keynoters are Marc Fleury from JBoss (on the state of Java EE) and Thomas Kurian, from Oracle, on "The Next Application Platform." Specific topics for the Symposium include AJAX, web frameworks, architectural issues in SOA, managing state in web frameworks, team-oriented issues, and more. Register by February 9 to pay the Early Bird price. Plus, if you register by January 12, you'll get a free book. On-site raffles will include a Sony PSP, Video iPods, Tivo, iPod Nanos and magazine subscriptions.Threaded Messages (5)

Nice site UI and re-fresh on the Symposium concept. It looks like the over all scope of the conference has been changed this year, and it was probably about time for a refresh. Good luck with the show this year guys! Floyd -

Last years conference was pretty disappointing. Everyone I spoke to complained the quality of the conference had really gone down hill and yet the price tag has increased. I see this years cost is $1595 for early registration. Looking at the site it does seem some things have been done to address this. The big one of course being the move to the Venetian. If I remember correctly this is where it was three years ago when the conference rocked with great presentations, a great networking party and quality food etc. Can we be given some more guarantees that things will be back on track this year, other than the free wireless (what a joke the wireless was last year) and a improved registation site? -

Well, we're always looking at continual improvement. We're aware of the issues with the venue last year; that's why we're moving it. We're also addressing the other concerns raised from the attendees. If you have specific complaints, I'm happy to talk to you about them: jottinger at techtarget dot com.

The new site looks very nice. I like the idea of having white board sessions and having access to space for doing that at the conference. Great idea! -

Anybody else notice this? Try to register and you will see what I mean. Kinda ironic, huh?
