General J2EE: J2EE Specification - Ading new jsps to an deployed application

  1. Hi All, Can anyone help me. I wanted to know if anywhere in the J2EE specification it mentions that it to add files to an application after it has been deployed is a violation? I am wanting to develop an application that has dynamic modules with their own jsps. The application would obtain these jsps from the modules and write them into the jsp directory of the application Tomcat is fine with new jsps (must unpack the war file) and so is Websphere (must tick the class reload check box though)
  2. My 2 cents.. I don't see anything specified like that in the specs. However, if you are doing in production box, you would prefer to turn off "autoloading" option (Which keeps checking if any new JSP/Servlets are deployed). Otherwise, you may have to bear with some minor performance hit. ~Rajesh.B
