The Jailer development team is proud to announce the release 2.7.1, which now supports the DbUnit flat XML dataset file format, thus allowing the users of the famous JUnit extension DbUnit to use the extracted data for unit testing. Jailer is a tool for test-data extraction, schema browsing, and rendering. It exports consistent and referentially intact row-sets from relational databases. It also removes obsolete data without violating integrity. It is DBMS agnostic (by using JDBC) and generates DbUnit datasets, hierarchically structured XML, and topologically sorted SQL-DML. http://jailer.sourceforge.net/

Looks promising. Could be extended to a database migration tool.
How useful. DBUnit's very useful, and a tool to simplify creating extracts is a nice contribution.
