What If All the World Ran Linux?
Katherine Noyes produced and article for Newtorkworld discussing all the great things that would happen if the world ran Linux. The key points are the fact that it would be an end to malware, there would be no need for internet security, computers would never break down, and so much money would be saved that world hunger would end, and there would be peace in the middle-east.
Here's what would really happen - malware makers would target Linux operating systems instead of Windows. Computer hackers would hack the life out of Linux systems instead of focusing on Windows security holes. Also, if the world ran Linux, there'd be a whole lot more garbage software that morons would install on their servers causing all sorts of memory leaks and race conditions that are really at the core of why Windows servers end up needing bouncing.
One thing that is true is that there would be a great reduction in laptop thefts. I mean, your average thug isn't going to want to steal a laptop that runs Linux.
