I want to mantain session state across multiple JVM's, i.e. multiple Application Servers, (4 failover and no-server affinity purposes). Each session will be holding quiet a bit of data so I cannot use the HttpSession.
My understanding is if I store my session state in an EJB the Application Server layer will handle the distrubtion for me. If I store my session state in a Session Bean and the JVM disappears the Session Bean does too.
Is the only solution for me, place session data in an Entity Bean as these are the only EJB type to be distrubted, i.e. if Server 1 goes down JNDI lookup will retrieve Sesion state from Server 2?
I am using WebSphere 3.5.
