EJB throwing a Remote~Exception

EJB programming & troubleshooting: EJB throwing a Remote~Exception

  1. EJB throwing a Remote~Exception (1 messages)

All business interfaces in the remote interface of an EJB are required to throw the java.rmi.RemoteException.

    1) Under what circumstances does such an exception get thrown?

    2) Does the EJB container have a "timeout" feature so that it throws the exception only if it gets no response after a certain period?

    3) Is this timeout feature a default feature of Java RMI itself?
