In Weblogic, the EJBHome object is threadsafe, thus a good design strategy is to cache a home object in your servlet layer, and use that same home object for all clients accessing your site.
Someone mentioned that a threadsafe home object is not mandated by the spec, and thus caching of home objects is not portable.
Very interesting question.
I would think that since it's obtained via jndi lookup all the clients (threads) will obtain the reference to the same object, so it must be thread-safe.
Any other ideas?
