GNU Classpath is a project to create free core class libraries for use with virtual machines and compilers for Java. In this release, fixes were made to URL and URLStreamHandler. File.deleteOnExit() was implemented. Multiple new features and bugfixes were made in java.text. AWT lists use GTK treeviews.

GNU makes Linux and has a DotGNU (a port of .Net).
The classpath project is : creating all the rt.jar classes without the Sun license.
It that serious?

If I can write my Java code and with very little effort expand my potential market at the expense of a few extra megabytes why the hell not I say :-)
