Neotys has released NeoLoad 1.0, a commercial Java-based load testing tool. By simulating a large number of users accessing your application, NeoLoad tests the robustness and the performance of the server under different loads. A test report can help pinpoint errors and bottlenecks.

NeoLoad attempts to help answer the following questions:

• Is the application working properly?
• How many users does the site handle?
• Will the site crash under load?
• What are the application response times?

I can't help but notice the similarities between their UI and JMeter's UI (though neotys' is much prettier). It makes me go "hmmmm".

Do we have a case of proprietary software copying open-source?

Looking at the online demo, it looks like Neotys has done their home work. From the short demo, it looks like NeoLoad takes the best ideas from Mercury, Rational, Testmaker, jmeter and others. It's a bit expensive, but no where near as expensive as Mercury.

They do IP Spoofing for load test. Do they use JNI to do the same?
