GWT 2.0, Chrome (Google pushing RIA technologies to be as powerful as Java Applets was 10 years ago, but using much more complicated approach :]) Also Google Wave and many other Google products.

You forgot all the threads where the JBoss or JEE 6 guys complain about things spring guys say then when the spring guys explain, the JBoss or JEE 6 guys say it is unfair that they are being picked on.

John, For the record, I have no problems with discussions that are purely technical - I'll be happy to carry on such a discussion until the cows come home. I have every problem with folks attempting character assassinations on people with opinions they don't like or spreading FUD about Java EE. 2009 was, without doubt, the year of the "Frank Charles" automated posting bot. This ingeneous software was enabled at intervals during the year by IBM and managed to contribute 54 pieces of news in 2009, without once replying to a single question posted by users about the provided news items. This deserves special recognition, and IBM are to be congratulated. :-)
