Cluster wide JNDI update

General J2EE: Cluster wide JNDI update

  1. Cluster wide JNDI update (1 messages)

    Hi Guys,
I am using Weblogic Application Server7.0.
    I registered a object(hashtabe) into a JNDI tree.
If I modify the object in a single instance this is change will reflect in all the instance in clustering environment?

    Hi Bala,

Yes, this is correct. The JNDI tree is replicated across all servers in a cluster. This behavior is transparent to the applications deployed throughout the cluster.

If you are looking for more than simple replication, i.e. sophisticated and dynamic caching, I would suggest you have a look at Coherence. Just my opinion, but I have had a lot of students who are working with both WebLogic and Coherence, and they all have had nothing but good things to say about it.
